Landis crashed because error of climate library for Climate-spinup-input-log.csv #26

Dear Experts,

With the same inputs of LANDIS II, the model may crash due to the error: "Loading weather data ... Internal error occurred within the program: The process cannot access the file 'Climate-spinup-input-log.csv' because it is being used by another process". This crash may still come even after I restart my computer and do not open any other application. However, the model may go through very well if I try to rerun the model with identical inputs even immediately after the crash. What is the reason for the problem?

I am looking for your help as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely.

Tony

That error arises if you have the climate file open to look at it. It can also happen if you run your sims on OneDrive because it's trying to access and back-up your files as you run them.

Dear Melissa,

I am sure the climate file had not been opened before I click the Landis BAT file, and I did not run my simulation on OneDrive but in my local drive E. Landis, its extensions, and libraries are installed in drive C.

Thanks for the quick response, but I am still looking for your help.

Tony

I would try moving LANDIS to a different directory to run it. Perhaps under My Documents or ideally in a subfolder on the C drive. For example, I run mine here: C:\Users\mlucash\Elliott_Project_Sims\
