hdf5 based netcdf4 regression test, must include threads #81

@jnjohnsonlbl we should do this one prior to releasing and test with the superbuild. I'm thinking we can grab one of Michael's new files for the test.

this hdf5 threadsafe issue is a pain in the neck because no one out there compiles it that way. we may have to steer folks to the super build rather than bew or apt.

FWIW it seems like homebrew supports the thread-safe and unsupported build options: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-science/blob/master/hdf5.rb

Apt (dpkg) is another story, since it deals in binaries and not source, so I do concur that the super build might be the simplest catch-all.
