Hi,

Original author here, and just came to say that I love seeing people still using and enjoying LCD Smartie. Great job stokie-ant! And ofcourse those that came before you.

Edit: Oh and it's too bad i just read you lack hardware for testing. I sold all my stuff (for way too little money), or i would've send it to you.

In my days i just emailed matrix orbital and told them i needed a dotmatrix lcd for software support and the send me their stuff...

Back then LCD Smartie was a bit more famous. I don't know if it still works that way...

Greetz, BasieP

Give us a shout and we will ship you some displays!

@BasieP ... this seems like a life time ago! -Henry

HI Basie and Henry Happy to see that you are still following LCD Smartie. Anthony gives his best to add features and fix bugs on LCD Smartie and any kind of support to him is highly appreciated! I believe that this post is a boost of his confidence as well.

@BasieP I'm thinking to revise LCD Smartie logo if this is OK with you (I can raise a discussion on forums if you want). Thank you for been here.

@hjakl Love that you are still following LCD Smartie. I think Matrix Orbital can offer us (Anthony for sure needs hardware) few displays for testing!

THANK YOU. Nikos

Thank you very much @BasieP. For the compliments and for your initial work on this amazing software. It's good to see you here. I've been a user since mid 2000s when I stripped a 2x16 hd44780 from an old HiFi amplifier, over parallel on a 600Mhz Celeron with 64MB RAM. Back then I lacked any knowledge of software programming and never thought for a second I'd be up to my neck in LCD Smartie code someday. I really have learned a lot from doing so. Thank you again, none of this would have been possible without you.

@hjakl Thats very generous of you. Thank you. It would be nice to have a real Matrix Orbital to test on rather than my frankenduinorbital: DSC_0298 DSC_0299

@limbo666 You're right, that was a surprise

Ah here it is. I knew I had an account on here. This is Hydro from the forums!! Please make a list of hardware that you need for testing and we can see what we can do. I deal mostly with pole displays (VFD Customer Displays). I believe that I sent you the dll files for the two I mainly use already. A fellow named Dave Perrow wrote the drivers a long time ago for me. I don't know if he is still around, but he was really good at making display drivers. I have been able to get some other displays working with the use of arduino as a "go between" and using the matrix.dll driver to make them work in smartie. I use smartie on a daily basis and it is the main part of any setup I do, so keeping this alive is a must :) There should be a donation thingie set up to support the devs of this now. Considering I'm more proficient in the arduino side of things than the main program I can't really be of much help, but I can still do what I do best, Hardware.

Hi Hydro, welcome to the party. Ideally I'd need one of each supported display to test the drivers. Even unsupported displays would be useful though so I can get support for them written. I'll have to make a list that I can cross off somewhere
