This needs detail. Specifically: what information is the user passing along for authentication? Username? User URI? Email? Password? Other token? etc.

Not sure if this is already written up elsewhere. cc: @jermnelson @ndushay @jmartin-sul @jgreben

I think we'll still want to do this if/when we do work on the CLI so I'd be inclined to leave the issue open. We otherwise can remove it from our WC board.
