UX for fielded and faceted Advanced Search of Sinopia data #2156

Add advanced search options for users who would like to be able to refine their search by facets (for Sinopia only, search of external data sources limited to keyword search). Specific details to come. image

@michelleif Here are the requirements from the users I've received: Specify what ‘date’ is 'Select all' functionality for facets (see #2197) Wondering where facets come from, are these all the facets, what if I need specialized facets (music, movies, etc) What if there are more facets than can fit in the box? Display top 10 and then the rest in pull down Ability to put in a specific year or range or a slider

Do you want to discuss which of these we want to address in this work cycle?

Does our basic search need to be BIBFRAME aware? Can we add contributor and title? (but we don't know what a contributor is. We just know RDF)

user requests from April 5, 2021, Sinopia User Group meeting:

  1. add ability to search by institution who created the description and by user who created it; this is especially important for training and review
  2. search by author and title

note for future: with the faceted choices, how do you "select all" in a facet, or if all are selected, how do you then "select only"

The first checkbox could be 'Select all'. If you check that first box, then all boxes in that section are selected. If you un-check it, then none of the boxes are selected. image
