Hi @ivopbernardo and @minhhoang1023 - any thoughts/news on this? We have until tomorrow to provide an answer.
Sorry for the late reply here.
To me, this is a yay. Organizations share some common goals and also had good feedback on DSPT. As long as it is nothing mandatory, I don't see any problem in promoting the Eurekathon.
@minhhoang1023 do you agree?
@ivopbernardo Makes sense for me that we promote them & Data Science scene in general. My only 2cents, as we trust you to make the right call here so no need to check with me before closing it. You definitely have more contextual knowledge here!
Ok, this is done and I've let Rui know we are okay to proceed!
Thanks y'all!!
Context:
Rui Mendes from DSPT approach me to scope our interest in being a Community Partner in the Eurekathon (https://www.eurekathon.com/) that will happen in November.
As the main organizer of the event, the Eurekathon is a data-driven competition that addresses societal issues associated with sustainable development goals. In this 3rd edition, you are challenged to develop concrete and creative solutions that contribute to build smart cities.
Because they know that the best way to reach people to participate is through communities, they are looking for a Community Partnership, which only entails sharing their info on our channels.
If we are interested, we can a more active role and have LDSA mentors on the event. About this matter I told Rui that we don't endorse mentors for obvious reasons of favoring a person over the other. However, we can make this offer public, mention that the Eurekathon is looking for mentors and provide Rui's Linkedin profile. He thanked and agreed.
I wanted to know your opinion about this. Should we be partners? We need to give an answer until end of next week. I'll be forwarding you the information Rui sent me (via email).
Goal(s)s: Give an answer to Rui Mendes regarding the Eurekathon and our participation as Community Partners.
Acceptance criteria: Receive a yey or nay regarding this issue until the 7th of October.
