Overview of UX improvement request Adding an english-french language change option, with perhaps a page or two that provide bilingual content.

Rationale Drupal is pretty good at supporting multilingual content governed by a 'swap' link and the starter site could be a good space to feature the way in which this functions.

How to implement

It's unclear what a bilingual object would signify in islandora. Is it that the real-world thing is bilingual, such as a booklet printed in two languages? Or is this an object which happens to be in French, so the cataloguing of the title and abstract are taken directly from the object, despite being in a language that's not the site's main language? The latter seems like a bad use case for adding a language switcher, as the user would have to switch their interface language just to see the proper title of the work. If the works on the site are available in one or more of the site's languages, are we modelling them as one translatable node with various language-specific media? Or different nodes with their own media?

What is the most common use case for wanting access to another language (in presenting islandora content) and could we do a better job representing that?
