We need more "direct" information for the users.

uleopold commented 10 years ago

Let us discuss a few options and see also how others solve this.

eykamp commented 10 years ago

Ok, we'll try putting the abstracts directly on the page itself. My initial opinion is that it is not as good as I had hoped.

uleopold commented 10 years ago

This needs further discussion before acting and closing (see baove comment I made). The current solution is not very user friendly either and a user can loos the overview now very easily.

eykamp commented 10 years ago

Maybe we can discuss today? I'll assign this back to Christian, because I have nothing to do on it at the moment.

uleopold commented 10 years ago

Yes, we can discuss today. But we might need more discussion to come to an improved solution.

We could use a pop up window similar to MetaData for a Data Set. once open, the window should be moveable and allow data set selection during the configuration process.

In the end it is MetaData of a WPS which needs to be handled in a similar way to data sets.

uleopold commented 10 years ago

Maybe use the gear instead of the question mark as it is also MetaData.

christianbraun commented 10 years ago

It is "meta data" of the WPS, thats right. But in that specific case it is a vital function of the user interface to guide the user the a working module. I got the impression during the training session that none of the users got what these dropdown fields are good for or at least what to put there. The button didn't "work". It wasn't obvious to make use of the pop-up functionality. Even then the text was crippled and hard to read...
