During this meeting, we first discussed our relax ng schema that we will be using for each of our markups of the texts we are analyzing. Luciana created a beautiful schema! This schema will continue to be a work in progress as we continue with our research, but within it we included a bunch of elements and attributes for how we wanted to highlight different aspects of divinity. We of course included structural markup as well. Since our primary research question as of now aims to analyze the different portrayals of divine feminine vs divine masculine figures, we are pondering the issue of constructed gender classifications. How can we pinpoint certain characteristics and descriptions as either feminine or masculine? These specifications can be barriers that limit us from answering deeper questions. Also one of our stories is about a non-binary character, so we wouldn't want to markup specific elements as being gendered. We hope that our research within the next week can help us reach a conclusion about our final research question, and if we want constructed gender classifications to be a part of it.
Me and Ava showed our wire framing ideas briefly, and we all agreed that we would LOVE our site to include art inspired by The Metamorphoses. Charlie found this archive for us to pick out artworks free of copyright: https://library.artstor.org/#/
Here are our tasks for the next week (Midterm tasks):
Completed schema, informed by markup process (Luciana will spearhead this)

Thanks for the update, Renee! Thank you for providing a clear description of everyone's tasks; this was very helpful. What are your ideas for the wireframe?
