oh :( i suppose matches! is newer than MSRV?

Ah! matches! is from 1.42.0. I'm not tied to the current MSRV, but I might be a little proud with how low it is. 😄

We'll need to raise the MSRV to expand what functions are const eventually. Up to you whether you'd rather bump to 1.42.0 now or update this PR, I'm okay with either.

I think I'll update this PR. It's such a simple function that it doesn't really matter/make it more or less readable.
