DeSmuME itself does support building for macOS and Linux, and you could even try to build this fork for the platforms as well. The problem is that the feature is not really functional on those platforms. The code related to reading controller state and the UI for configuring it are platform-dependent for AM64DS, and I've only added the required code for Windows in this fork.
If you want to use AM64DS on macOS or Linux, I have started work on a MelonDS variant of the project. MelonDS uses a platform independent method for handling input and UI, so the one version works for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The challenge is that, due to how the projects handle things, it requires different cheat codes to work. I'll leave a comment here when that's all working.
Sorry I never responded sooner, but a melonDS version of this would be amazing to have! Is this still something you're working on, and if so is there anything I can do to help?
Hello!
I am terribly unfamiliar with how Github works, so apologies if this isn't really something that pertains to your project.
The main page for AM64DS seems to indicate something related to a macOS build for the emulator. Is this something that is available now or is it a work in progress? If it is available, how exactly would I go about downloading it?
Thanks for bearing with me, I hope to actually sit down and learn this stuff one day.
