This soil map is generated by the HWSD soil file by FAO and the resolution of this raster file is 30-arc seconds (approximately 1 km)
You can directly download the soil map without running the script from https://www.researchgate.net/publication/334634875_World_Soil_Map_FAO
Dr. Rathore-so I can convert this raster file to 500 m and run the script with this finer resolution raster, this will result in a 500 m soil map right?
You can change the grid resolution of the file, but this is something I would not suggest. Try to look for a more finer resolution soil map if you really require it. This file is useful for global study or a macroscale model i.e. VIC.
Thank you Dr. Rathore
Hi Dr. Rathore,
What will be spatial resolution of the output soil map? The reason why I ask this is that the DEM and Landcover file have 30 m resolution, do all these tiffs, DEM, vegetation and soil have to have the same spatial resolution?
Thank you,
