To Clarify: Removal of permissions means removing previous DESC members from private-to-DESC Slack channels. I think the project should be technically responsible for removing people from Slack if their data rights are revoked, since it's conceivable somebody would not be in DESC but still be allowed to use Slack.
The list of who has data rights, afaik, is based on this list https://www.lsstcorporation.org/IC-PI-JR-List It's updated manually and only covers the principal investigators and junior researchers. If DESC issued the invitation then it should also rescind the invite if a person is no longer active on DESC.
We're still using a manual process for SLACK invites and have no expectation that will change.
And automate removal of permissions when people leave.
