NERSC Consulting responded to the ticket I filed a few weeks ago at https://github.com/DarkEnergyScienceCollaboration/SSim_DC1_Roadmap/issues/3#issuecomment-238645197 regarding setting umask so that files are group-accessible. They pointed me at this page: http://www.nersc.gov/users/computational-systems/genepool/file-storage-and-io/setting-up-file-permissions/ So we should make a login script with standard group-specific settings for desc users to use at NERSC.
