Help with Notebook Tutorials #53

At the Argonne sprint week it was suggested that some of the notebook tutorials could be updated and that the documentation of the content of notebooks could be made clearer. I'm going to try to tackle this with the hope that in the process I'll learn something about DC1.

Specific goals:

Learn about DC1 products and access (personal goal for @kadrlica)
Clean code rot from tutorials
Improve documentation/clear structure

This seems to be related to #51

@cwwalter and @fjaviersanchez would it be better to close this issue and move to #51?

I think so... They are basically duplicates. You can edit the #51 title to say scripts and notebooks if you want.
