We want to define the scope of the next overall 3x2pt STAR project that follows project 228 (presenting TXPipe and validating it on idealized Gaussian/cosmoDC2 simulations). Outline the initial steps and identify people who will work on them.
A project description and some concrete todo's for the coming 1-2 months.
Resources and skills needed
Probably good if you have been following the development of project 228 already. Great also if you have some familiarity with parts of the DESC 3x2pt pipelines (TXPipe, Firecrown, TJPCov, RAIL, etc.)
Detailed description
Specifically we want to decide:
what is the driving "science" questions
how are we making the lens and source samples more realistic? what samples do we want to use?
how are we obtaining and using n(z) and their uncertainties?
how are we dealing with baryons?
how are we dealing with covariances and masks?
what estimator to use?
how do all the above map onto new things we need to add in the pipelines?
Defining next stage of overall STAR project
We want to define the scope of the next overall 3x2pt STAR project that follows project 228 (presenting TXPipe and validating it on idealized Gaussian/cosmoDC2 simulations). Outline the initial steps and identify people who will work on them.
