Goals and deliverable

Building a Jupyter notebook for demonstrating using CLMM on some published observation data.

Resources and skills needed

Software: CLMM Data: The HSC SSP public data releases (cluster catalogs and shear catalogs) (Credit: NAOJ / HSC Collaboration) because of similar observation and data format to the Rubin LSST.

Detailed description

The notebook will mainly be developed and tested on NERSC.

The steps of this sprint:

• [x] Installing CLMM and setting things up
• [x] Selecting a cluster
• [x] Downloading the published catalogs at the cluster field
  • [x] Shear catalog
  • [x] Photo-z catalog
  • [x] Photometry catalog
• [x] Loading the catalog into CLMM
  • [x] Reading in the catalog
  • [x] Adding cuts on the catalog
  • [x] Adjusting column names
• [x] Running CLMM on the dataset (using the example notebook for CLMM Paper v1.0, etc.)
  • [x] Obtaining a shear profile using CLMM
  • [x] Obtaining a mass fit using CLMM
• [x] Comparing the mass with the published result
  • [x] Implementing shear calibration
• [x] Selecting other clusters and repeat the steps above if possible
• [ ] In the future, we could also try stacking their shear profiles in CLMM
