Improving engagement for remote participants
- Sometimes it's a bit complicated to keep track of changing schedule
- Making clear for remote participants that they need to commit their time.
- Maybe have two hubs e.g. one in US, one in Europe, one of them is virtual
- Tutorials before the sprint week, and recording, to save time during the actual meeting.
Advance readiness
- Pair programming (1 hours or 2 hours) on a regular schedule ~ month timescale
Keeping the momentum up during sprint week
- Regular pair programming helps keeping up the momentum
- A little hack day will help
Logistics
- Tutorials before the sprint day,
- Many slack channels, we should have better structure.
- "desc-hack-sprint" not normalized naming conventions for the channels.
- Where are my pipeline scientists!
- Maybe a "sprint"-fair to better engage new people with projects
- the point should be to work synchronously when possible
Organizational question
- Maybe have a SOC dedicated to rallying efforts throughout the collaboration in advance.
