Constraining Dark Matter with Stellar Streams

Contacts: @norashipp, @psferguson, @marinekuna Day/Time: Main communication channel: #desc-dkm-stellar-streams GitHub repo: LSSTDESC/stream_sim Zoom room (if applicable):

Goals and deliverable

Our goal is to start making concrete progress towards developing the tools needed to make dark matter constraints with stellar streams in early LSST data.

Resources and skills needed

Enthusiasm and an interest in dark matter

Detailed description

There are three main components of the project:

We would love to have new participants in any/all of these components!

This does the 1D projection onto the stream. It's fairly easy to also extract the orthogonal distance, e.g. for 2D analysis.
