Check it out, @kadrlica - I adapted aastex61 to make a latex PDF that looks like it was written in Markdown. Ready for review, in the issue/11/descnotecls branch. Do make tex to compile the PDF given your template (which I also extended and cookiecuttered).

cookiecutter uses the prompt's description field to populate the variables if none are entered, so that's good! Thanks for the review.
