There are a few notebooks that we are no longer able to support. We've decided that in such cases, these notebooks may still provide useful information, but should not be maintained alongside the "active" notebooks. This has prompted the creation of a Graveyard.
The first two notebooks to be moved to the Graveyard are:
Basics/DataInventory.ipynb (@drphilmarshall and @rmorgan10) - This notebook is largely a demonstration of the stackclub.Taster, a nifty tool that was made to augment the deficiencies of the Gen-2 butler for investigating and exploring data repos. Unfortunately, it depends on classes and repo structures that have evolved a lot over the past few years. Since the stackclub.Taster resides outside of the DM Stack, it requires constant maintenance to be kept up-to-date with the Stack. We've limped along for a few major version updates, but with the impending release of the Gen-3 butler, this notebook should be deprecated.
ImageProcessing/Re-RunHSC.ipynb (@jtmyles) - This is a tour-de-force notebook for reprocessing the ci_hsc data set through a combination of bash scripts and analogous python API "examples". It differs from most Stack Club notebooks in its heavy use of the shell and long execution time. In fact, many cells are commented out by default. This notebook is likely still a valuable resource for others who are attempting to process data.
ImageProcessing/ProcessEimage.ipynb (@kadrlica) - This notebook was intended as a demonstration of how to process early simulated image data. Since the e-image data type was deprecated at about the same time that this notebook was produced, it really belongs in the graveyard.
Adding @mfisherlevine as the reviewer, but happy to hear comments from any of the people @ above. I think I've gotten confirmation that they are ok with this.
