Dealing with derived variables/measurements #1

Open CherineJ opened 5 months ago

Some datasets contain variables that are not based on raw data but rather derived from other variables (e.g., difference in weight between two time points). Strictly speaking, these variables should not be included as measurements in the measurement or fact table in the DwC-A, as they are already on the analysis level. For datasets that come with publications, like the cricket data, the underlying raw data might however not always be available and dropping derived variables would therefore lead to a loss of valuable data.
