If data contains counted variables that are not describing the occurrence of individuals/organisms, they can be included in the (extended) measurement or fact table of the DwC-A as measurements. They then also need a measurementUnit.
According to the Darwin Core documentation it is "recommended best practice to use the International System of Units (SI)". This is however not applicable for count data as it is unitless.
