The EML file is so far created manually. This needs to be automised by writing an R pipeline in which only the metadata itself needs to be filled in, while the XML file is then created automatically.
With a set of R packages (xml2, emld, EML), two of them being specifically designed to create EML files, the creation of the eml.xml file of the DwC-A is rather straightforward. The metadata content is stored in several lists which are used to create the final xml file.
