Let The Server Automatically Launch Minigames #619

Open EPIC-striker opened 4 years ago

EPIC-striker commented 4 years ago

The main issue right now is that it takes a player to launch a minigame and then the rest of the players will follow. Most of the time we even forget that we have such amazing minigames.

As a way to promoting our server features and have players engaging more, we could have the server automatically launching minigames.

However, when the server is empty, this would stop. Similar to what is done with automatic /show messages.

It sounds exactly like reaction tests to me. Yeah this is a lot better. I suggest that bots shall pick random mini games each time to show versatility in each mode

Specifer commented 4 years ago

That's cool. Maybe /autominigame to turn it off and on would be damn good .

BeanerLVP commented 4 years ago

This would be great. The list should include less frequently used minigames like random derbies, races, robbery, rivershell, LYSE, has, waterfight, brief, bat fight, grenade wars, etc., and exclude common minigames like wwtw and rwtw since they don't really need any exposure.

Perhaps Gunther can start minigames at regular intervals the same way it handles /show?

Let's not burden Gunther. A new bot might prove efficient in this case.

I have been thinking the same beaner :D, But just thought NPC's can't get signed up for a minigame, right ?

Thank y'all for your input. I'm sure Russell would figure something out with that brilliant mind of his.

@BeanerLVP I'm debating whether or not the server should auto-launch the less vs most frequent minigames.

We should be able to find out why some minigames are played more than others. So we know where to focus, change, or remove minigames that don't perform well.

@RussellLVP, How do you plan on doing this though. Maybe with Gunther you can do this and add a line in minigame handler not to allow NPC into the game maybe?or any other ideas?
