truncate student audio recording from end #17

Not sure if this is actually a single "issue" or actually more of an "epic" like how to do this? maybe something like:

  1. design the gui
  2. POC of the functionality/research plugins/author custom code to do it
  3. implent the gui
  4. proper implementation of functionality

didn't put these in an iteration or in ready bc perhaps you want to review it and either break into more issues/tasks, or ask clarifications before you'd consider it ready (e.g. operable, estimatable, etc.)
