The issue was reported on ComPlat/chemotion_ELN#1798 by @MichaelOCI.

-Windows (Client), VM (VirtualBox) with Ubuntu as Server

Firefox Browser -ELN Chemotion; Export VM: 1.8.1, import both the original user on same Server and also a second VM with Chemotion 1.8.2

This feature is now available with LabIMotion 1.3.0. You can experience it in ELN 1.9.2, which includes LabIMotion 1.3.0.
