These are the drivers I am currently writing for my open-loops piezo controllers. They are not yet finished as some things are unclear from the manual.
As you can see from the code, there is no way to ask for any step size save by changing the amplitude, which makes it quite counter intuitive even for an open loop controller. If any of you has any experience with open loop controllers he is welcome to comment.
