under linux/fedora gps latitude and geonames are not written in metatags #122

I followed all instructions and installed the linux dependencies, I am using
Fedora 16. I also had to install http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Unidecode, this
was not described in the README file. However, when I synch the gps longitude
and altitude are correctly written in the meta information, but the altitude is
missing, also the geonames are missing.

From the log file and the output of the synch process it is clear that the
correct latitude is found from the gpx file and also the correct geonames are
fetched (from http://ws.geonames.org I think). But these values cannot be
written in the meta information of the picture. So I believe there is a problem
in writing metatags in linux/fedora. I also tested the program under Windows
Vista and everything works fine.

Thanks for any help

Please close the issue, it turn out I was using some crappy program to view the
metatags, using the tool exiftool I can see that all GPS as well as geonames
are properly set. So it works under linux/Fedora 16! I would suggest to include
in the README file also a dependency to Unicode to make is easier to install.
