We need a repository of checklists to make sure that we do things right the first time to the greatest extent possible. Without task checklists / procedures, we are sure to forget details... that is human nature... forgetting details wastes valuable time which we may not have, especially prior to competition. Additionally, without proper task documentation / training material, people do not have a reference of whether or not they are doing something wrong. No one wants to do work wrong, and having a task sheet / cheat sheet / good documentation showing the important details for common tasks helps with training and helps with making sure we do it right the first time every time.
Some non-exhaustive ideas for task lists..
[ ] Vision Startup Instructions - these have already been started and include some basic checks at the bottom. These could be improved with pictures.... but the core info is there... also some basic checklists such as "make sure the camera is plugged in"... We forget to plug in the camera... it happens... having the checklist in front of you to remind you of that can help eliminate the common easy issues so we can concentrate on the hard problems.
[ ] Electrical encoder cables... wire orders, what is the top of the plug and bottom, etc... how to connect encoders to the robo rio.
[ ] Electrical connectors. what tools do we need, what are the procedures, what are the common mistakes that people make, how do you do it right and wrong,
[ ] Spark-max and other trouble-shooting.
[ ] etc...
This issue is to define what task lists we need and get the skeleton into MonsterDocs. Then we can start working on them. Creating these task lists is a good learning opportunity for rookies. You learn things better when you write down the step by step instructions.
