Push connection? #84

As discussed on IRC, some kind of push connection to save battery would be very interesting, perhaps using Colloquys protocol ( http://colloquy.mobi/bouncers.html ) or something similar.

I'm hoping for the exact same thing. I know this issue is really old (and probably forgotten) but this needs a higher priority imo. The app itself is perfect as no other app allows users to swipe to the right to access channels, in other apps you have to swipe left and right infinitely until you go to the channel you want. Please fix the battery drain, it's not something like 2%, it's massive...:( Really wish you could make it work as other apps, by push notifications :) Cheers, love the app btw!
