The idea here would be that a status can be a stronger or more advanced form of another status.

This might add too much complexity. What do you think?

I had considered the idea. But I wonder if its not strong enough. Spending two actions is a large investment. Perhaps just have grappled -> restrained. A restrained character probably cant make an attack at all?

True. What is your thought on having statuses that are also other statuses? So with what I have here, restrained is also grappled, and pinned is restrained, grappled, and prone.

Honestly, I think its redundant. Let them just be grappled and prone at the same time. You could have an action that makes a restrained person prone, and they are now just both. It means less rules overall.
