Support for typescript #293

I'm looking into typescript and it looks like a useful tool for improving
productivity (since you get really good code completion hints and function
lookup). But if the libraries one uses don't have a definition file (here's one
for jquery, for example:
http://typescript.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/view/fe3bc0bfce1f#samples
%2fjquery%2fjquery.d.ts ), then it doesn't do you much good.

I'd like to request a definition file so that jsplumb supports typescript. I
think that would be a great addition to the library.

If I do adopt typescript, I may implement one myself, but I need to understand
the process a little better. Also, it would be better for the maintenance of
such a file if this idea was adopted by the community. So I guess vote up this
request if you want to see typescript support in jsplumb.

i'm not sure that i've got the time to look at this. i can see how, if you
were using typescript, it would be useful. but i'm not sure that a lot of
people are using typescript right now. maybe i'm wrong.

Yeah, it's definitely an up-and-coming language that may not get wide adoption.
I suppose if a dozen or more people star this issue, it would be an indicator
that it's been accepted :)

i guess time will tell if it's actually up and coming or if it stays niche like
so many of these types of endeavours.

if a dozen people starred this issue that would actually be some kind of
jsplumb record and might indicate typescript was actually about to take over
the world...

i do like the idea of some kind of code assist thing for jsPlumb. i wonder if
there are any emerging standards in the world of vanilla js.

Hi.

I couldn't find any type defs available for jsPlumb so I just went ahead and
made one myself. It's just been merged on GitHub:
https://github.com/borisyankov/DefinitelyTyped

It's only a very small subset of jsPlumb, it only covers what I've been using
of it so far. It could do with improvements no doubt.

Hopefully it will get the ball rolling.
