@SentientHousePlant I didn't realise you'd resolved the merge conflicts between branches before I merged, was expecting to keep most of your changes on top of mine. Looks like we're back to failing tests now so will take a look at your original commits again and reapply them to the current state.

I'm going to merge and release this one despite the Python 3.7 build error, since the package dependencies are only to run the tests and do not affect anyone installing and using it on Python 3.7.
