Can you sketch out a few examples of how you picture this to look like on the make a correction page and on the post itself?
As always thanks for all of your suggestions!
I'd just like to add that the "Gender of narration" is there because in many languages, it's an important grammatical point to modify verbs and adjectives according to the narrator's gender.
Ah... like this?
I think this is a good idea. Very often I'm not sure how well my corrections will be received since I'm not exactly sure what the author's goal is as far as language learning. I have lots of advice to give as far as sounding colloquial, but I feel like I have to default to a formal tone because it's the safer assumption.
I guess the question becomes should the "correction style" (what would be a good label name for this?) be on a per journal basis or set once via settings. A combination of the two could also work. Set once via the settings and override as needed.
It's to tell the original writer's intended style. Simply 'Style (of the entry)' would be good, I think, and the options explain the purpose a little further.
I think this is more meaningful than the current 'Gender of narration'. I'd like to suggest 1. Standard, 2. Conversational, 3. Formal, 4. Other, with a text box to explain it. The selection and the explanation should be displayed on the top of the correction page. It would be a good idea to make it mandatory because otherwise many people would overlook such a detail.
