Chunkloading on Fabric is a very peculiar topic. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a quirk of how it works on Fabric. More extensive testing is needed to verify that claim and if it's the case I'm not sure how we'd be able to fix it, because it would be a problem in Tech Reborn's code, of which the 1.18.2 version is not being supported anymore - so won't get updates.
Built a somewhat slow moss farm, set up an industrial chunk loader beneath it (radius was set to 3) and went to sleep. 24h later i log back in and the server is dying cuz the items were not being picked up by the hoppers and subsequently composted. 260k entities that had gotten stuck on top of empty hoppers and would not despawn.
Had to run a back up from when there were fewer items stuck and stop the machine. As soon as I logged back in within this back up the hoppers began picking items up (even if they were still a few thousand entities, look at pic).
My guess is that the industrial chunk loader is not working properly and is causing this pileup of items that crashes the server. Any ideas on how to fix this?
The version we're playing is this one:
