[Bug]: Mods Moved to Inactive Upon Game Start, Can't Import Order From Save #294

Windows 10

BG3 Mod Manager Version

1.0.10.0

BG3 Game Version

Full Release Patch 6

Bug Summary

Sometimes when I launch the game and go to load my save, it will list all my mods as inactive, and when I load up the mod manager, every single one is on the inactive side. This is done without me doing so, and I am unsure what is happening during the launch of the game to make this happen. When I try to import from a save, which has worked in the past when I've had this issue, I now get an error at the bottom that says "no mod order found in save [X]". It looks like it might just be unable to read my saves for some reason (I tried multiple different ones).

I had hoped this would have been fixed after the whole issues with MM and SE before but I encountered this error again when I booted up a file of mine and get greeted with the list of mods that have been disabled (All of them) if I recall, this was an issue due to SE and the Patch 6 update and you had to find out what mods just were not working due to the update itself. Which is problematic if you have quite a few and aren't sure which ones might be affecting your files.

My suggestion is to go through your mods and look for ones that haven't been updated and go through those to see which ones might be causing issues. But I'm in the same boat with this and having some of my game files just go "Yeah nah your mods aren't on even though you had them on."

Edit: Checking each of my saved Mod files (with their saved presets in MM) to see which all will load and what ones don't due to this issue. All but one file loaded properly with their mods. So I think this is still a possible issue from the early Patch 6 updates... where outdated or non-updated mods might not work due to the games updates, etc.

I have the same problem.

Update: 3/21/2024 It seems as though something has been fixed and my one file that was affected by this is now loading with all the mods I have and not turning them all off. I've noticed that when I was testing things out that only the file I had made (after Patch 6) was affected and was about to start an entirely new file to test with when I loaded into the game with the save that was affected.

Update 2: 3/21/2024 After messing with a few mods this seems to have bugged things again and now it is once again not loading the mods or exporting them to the game. Once going onto the game and trying the file it gives me the message that all of my mods have been turned off despite exporting them and ensuring that they have been turned on. It might be tied to the fact that I was updating mods that were updated and thus, this caused everything to break again.

I've been having this problem too. The mod manager just swaps everything over to inactive no matter what I do.

For some reason making sure the window is open and focused while loading up BG3 fixes it/ensures the game will load.
