Hi, thank you for your message. Sorry but I don't understand your request. I am French and I speak very bad English. Do you have images to illustrate your request please?
Hi, Pays Bas ici.
Well I assume these sections are true steelbeam sections right (or any other kind for purpose in 3D modeling) ? In steel members; the 'flange' part is the 'horizontal' part of an I-beam; The 'body' part of steel section is it's center part (its body). Like this image below, where Tf stands for thickness 'flange' and Tb stands for thickness 'body'. (just a dutch image - but it is a standard in International steel)
But.
There are also steel sections with independent thickness in its flange (Tf) and independent thickness in its body; for example the rail-beam section; this:
These rail-sections has a more thick head (TF) than its foot (TF) right ?
It would be nice to let the Tf variable (your thickness 1 in your current code) and Tb variable (thickness 2 in your current code) could be uncoupled (or unlocked) and let to be break down into two variables Tickness1A and Thickness1B for example when needed by the user. The same for it's body variable (thickness2) when needed into 2A and 2B.
This makes beamsections possible like this rail-section for example and a lot of others possible steel sections on the market :)
Clear ? Cheers !
Hi There, Great addon for architectural and mechanical engineers ~ like me ! I would like to uncouple the thickness of these profiles in its 'flange' thickness and 'body' thickness; is that possible to create ? This makes the posibility to also make for example railroad I beams and other stuff.
Greets !
