You could argue that people should be ready for anything as soon as they spawn in the DZ, or a simple solution could be to build a small safehouse at spawn with a one-way exit (drop from the roof, iron doors, or something to that effect). The spawn protection would prevent it from being altered so people wouldn't be able to return once they left, but could allow people to survey the starting area before they leave.
I want to avoid modifying the map manually as much is possible, and make the spawn points either random or selectable, maybe a combination of both. People who start grinding high levels would get annoyed by having to travel long distances to their favorite spots. There really are several ways to go around this, for example:
The current spawn system is currently really barebones, just to let you actually get into DZ, nothing more.
Create sort of "safe zone" at the entrance, or give players temporary immunity upon entering DZ. Might be possible to modify the AI for that?
