Please propose a decent alternative.

There is also noob who are using arch for learning. Otherwise there will not be so much question in the Arch forum.

theryecatcher commented 6 years ago

You can use any of these listed here AUR Helpers. Trizen is almost the most popular as lot of people from pacaur are jumping ship to that and still has feature parity.

funilrys commented 6 years ago

@theryecatcher I do know that as the maintainer of Laverna on the AUR  but OP started a PR in a deprecated branch, about a deprecated tool which is supposed to install a deprecated software

louwers commented 6 years ago

It doesn't make sense to suggest any particular AUR helper. In fact, using one is often frowned upon. All Arch Linux users are expected to be able to install PKGBUILDs using makepkg.

funilrys commented 6 years ago

@louwers But we both know that not every Arch user are able to do that ... Anyway this app is kinda dead, @wwebfor does not react anymore ...

Please push your changes to the dev branch as the master branch is deprecated (the dev is just less deprecated as the master branch) :crying_cat_face: .

theryecatcher commented 6 years ago

@funilrys Sorry was just thinking otherwise. Am sad that the master branch is dead had been an avid user for years. The development on master stopped and I too moved on. At one point thought it worthwhile to learn js and contribute, but yeah am lazy as a lion.

louwers commented 6 years ago

@funilrys Ah didn't know that. RIP.

Onto more interesting adventures!
