Font rendering problem on Linux Mint 19 #976

Ver 0.7.51 x64 linux Hello, i'm try using Laverna on Linux Mint 19 Cinammon and font rendering is broken.

That's fascinating. I'm not sure this is a laverna issue, but I'll pull down the Mint iso and set up a VM to have a look at it.

Exactly the same thing is happening in ubuntu 18.04 for me.

Probably due to a bug in libfreetype6 version 2.8.1

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freetype/+bug/1769132

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freetype/+bug/1751293 indicates it also affected other applications like Atom

Solution would be to wait for libfreetype6 2.9.1, or rebuild against Electron 1.7.10, but I don't think Laverna works with newer Electron versions.

What I ended up doing instead was building from the source and just using the index.html without rebuilding with electron because I wanted to plug it into https://meetfranz.com/ using the "file://" uri

Same problem (Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS). Does there is still no valable solution?
