For reference: This was requested quite often (see for example #1352 #1336 #145), got positive feedback but then unfortunately closed without a comment. I would be keen to know if this feature is still being considered.
@quassy smart tabs are already present in lawnchair V2
@milindgoel15 Tested it with the new beta: Smart tabs and other features still don't support automatically hiding apps which are already on the homescreen(s).
@quassy Homescreen ≠ App drawer wtf
The smart tabs is only made for app drawer apps not the homescreen.
@milindgoel15 Maybe first make sure you are not actually the one being unable to read and comprehend before attacking others: Try reading the title and original post again, "desktop" and "startpage" both refer to the homescreen not app drawer. Your comments are not relevant to the problem. (Sorry Lawnchair team for this offtopic.)
The idea is: If one adds "phone" to one of the homescreens, any such icon should optionally and automatically not appear in the app drawer anymore (no matter if there are tabs, folders or no categorization at all).
@quassy oops my bad Sorry for this
Has there been any progress on this feature?
Why was this closed? This feature does not seem to be implemented and I also can't find any mention of it in commits.
i was going through to close issues related to older versions of lawnchair, this could still be added though so I will reopen

Push
I just installed Lawnchair 12 for the first time, I'm happy with it, but having this feature would definitely be a plus.
I'm not an Android developer, but I'm willing to give it a try and implement a solution to this. I was thinking of adding a button to the hidden apps preference menu that would select all the apps that are on the home screen (and folders). I think it would be the easiest to implement and it would still be useful. Even if it requires some use intervention after changing the home screen, it removes the need to manually select all the applications.
Would this be an acceptable middle ground?

still valid
This would be a feature that will make all other launchers obsolete.
Idea for a special SmartTab for the AppList:
A SmartTab with all Apps, which are not listed/added on one of the startpages.
