Dwarf Therapist Issues #21

I have Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit operating system and I am currently having the error mentioned in common issues where it wont start and if I manually start it, it says DwarfTherapist: 1: DwarfTherapist: Syntax error: ")" unexpected. I have made sure that i have at least openjdk-6-jre and it still has issues. I find this all very odd since my desktop which runs Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit OS doesn't have this issue and I have done everything the same on both computers.

Did you download the 32-bit pack, and is the DT executable actually 32-bit? (You can check with the file command-line utility.)

jumba898 commented 8 years ago

Yes both the pack and the executable are 32-bit.

jumba898 commented 8 years ago

So I am guessing you have no other suggestions?

lethosor commented 8 years ago

Can you locate DwarfTherapist on the command line and paste the exact output of file <path>/DwarfTherapist?

lethosor commented 8 years ago

Okay, the DwarfTherapist executable is not 32-bit; file returns DwarfTherapist: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, not stripped for me. This is something @BeauBouchard needs to fix.

Sorry I posted the wrong thing and then I realized you already determined the issue. Thank you, now I know I wasn't doing anything wrong or missing some unknown dependencies.

jumba898 commented 8 years ago

so is there a way I can get and install Dwarf Therapist 32 bit version?

fricy commented 8 years ago

Compile it?

lethosor commented 8 years ago

I thought there was one on DFFD, but I'm having trouble finding it at the moment (that's where the 64-bit build came from, at least).

jumba898 commented 8 years ago

I looked through all of the builds on Lazynewbpack's website and they are all 64 bit builds.
