Sorry, I don't really know how to change the type.

You can not create different sets of settings by simply copying and renaming the
plugin, since the DB fields remain unchanged.
I will consider this enhancement; however, this is not a common need, so,
please,
bear with the fact it will not have high priority.
In a meanwhile, you might want to google for "RSS to LiveJournal" to find other
ways.

You might want to consider doing this feature as an option to post to multiple
journals. This way user may be able to add, modify and remove journals (from
various
providers) and plug-in will take care of posting. What would be nice is to be
able to
specify whether to post full post or just summary to each journal (as in - I
want
full posts for LJ and summary only on VOX or InsaneJournal).
If I understand correctly - it's the same XMLRPC, just needed to iterate
through a
few loops. Main problem, AFAIU, is the interface.

I tried the same thing illumnavi did, way back when it was still Evan Broder's
project, but since it didn't work, I shrugged and used it with LJ and left the
clone
un-updated. RSS to LJ doesn't do what I need, because I don't get comment
notifications for RSS feeds, and those entries don't stay long-term.
There is that desktop app, what was it...it crossposts your whole entry to all
your
blogs at once for you, but I wanted to have WP be my main blog with the others
pointing to it. I'll probably remember the name later.
I've got RSS on my MySpace front page, and I'm using a redirect I just found for
Blogger/Blogspot, but for the LJ clones, I prefer posting excerpts with links
back.
I'd tweak it myself, but I'm still at the copy-paste stage of php ("Oh, this
bit does
*that*! I want it over here...")

I'll add another voice to asking for the multiple journal cross post. I know a
lot
of people who maintain more than one "mirrored" journal. I have them on
livejournal,
insanejournal and dreamwidth.
