6 years ago one of my problems is also that with manual true I don't get the actors state in the messages. Please give it a try with CoolCave. manually stop actor 3 (led is lit since it's a inverted actor) and now activate Actor 6. Result: CoolBoard receives message and answers:
[2018-08-27T08:35:34Z][HEAP:7176]DEBUG: Message to log: {"state":{"reported":{"Act5":true},"desired":null}}Then the board restarts (grrrrr.. have to wait a minute)... Actor 6 is lit and actor 3 is off since appearently it acts exactly as in #27 like here: https://github.com/LaCoolCo/LaCOOLBoard/issues/27#issuecomment-401315266
