Make relative contributions answer optional in retrospective #153

Closed shereefb closed 7 years ago

shereefb commented 7 years ago

Benefits

Project leads, and players who were absent for a large percentage of the project can skip their input. Makes stats more fair.

Description

As a player, I can skip the relative contribution section of the retrospectives. Relative contributions will be measured based on other players' input.

what happens if everyone skips the RC question?

jeffreywescott commented 7 years ago

My recommendation is that, if everyone skips, we assume equal contributions by all players.

➤ Shereef Bishay commented: hmmm.... if everyone skips then assign relative contribution based on relative hours. So shereef says he did 25 hours and skipped relative contribution, jeffrey says he did 50 hours and skipped relative contribution, shereef gets 33% and jeffrey gets 66% and neither of their estimation biases change.

So this is already in RFI, but I do have some UI proposals:

  1. Change default state of all contribution sliders to assume equal contributions (e.g. on a 4-person team, they all start at 25%)
  2. Add a "Skip contribution estimation" checkbox to the bottom of the slider panel that, when clicked, disables the sliders and enters null values for the submitter's contribution estimations.
