Close irrelevant issues and add principles

Changes from the latest retreat likely made many issues in our backlog irrelevant.

• [x] Go through each issue in our backlog and determine whether it is still relevant
• [x] Mark all irrelevant issues with the label deprecated and close the issue
• [x] Add design principles razor to issue comment if keeping issue
