I think an 8:30-6:30 schedule is a recipe for burnout over 10 months. With a commute time of 30 mins and 8 hours of sleep, that only leaves 5 hours a day for people to see to the rest of their life responsibilities.
This is fine for a month or two, but nearly a full year of this kind of schedule is harsh. I think it will be especially difficult for parents, introverts, and those with longer commutes.
Simulation not preparation would imply that we go with an industry standard of 8 hours days.
