When will this be usable on the Blue? #17

Currently also not availabe from the Ledger Manager for the Nano S with 1.4.1 Firmware.

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

It's been... nearly a year now. We should likely assume at this point it's never coming :(

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

@TheSpiritof69 Holy crap, you're right... I saw the agent and I assumed it was there. Well now I'm kind of screwed, nothing was mentioned about this that I saw either.. It seems unlikely to be a mistake. GPG support is obv lower on the priority list, and that saddens me a bit.

I got the blue and the nano s in particular because they supported gpg. Blue support isn't likely to ever show up it seems, and with the nano, it looks like it may suffer the same fate now.

I wish we could get a response back... leaving it like this for months with users waiting is not cool :(

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

Still no word, still massive lack of support for this? This repo is literally called blue-app-openpgp-card.

K-orne commented 6 years ago

It's available.

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

@TheSpiritof69 No, it is not. It is not available as an application even if I show developer items (nor has it ever been for the Blue).

Edit: I'm talking about the Blue, not the Nano ;) -- (updated above to clarify)

K-orne commented 6 years ago

My bad.. On the Nano it is.

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

@TheSpiritof69 I'm very happy it's back though, I'd just really like to use my blue too.

Especially since it gets less attention for firmware updates, therefore less chance for mia gpg I can only hope, eh?

cslashm commented 6 years ago

For now, I ve no ETA for Blue.

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

@cslashm Thank you for your response.

  1. Does that mean "never" or "someday"?
  2. What roadblocks stand in the way? Is it that hard to port it? I thought these archs were rather similar, but you would know best of course!

Seconding the last question - what still needs to happen before this can be available for Blue? I bought one expecting it to be a flagship product, but it turns out it's a 5th-class citizen. I'm more than a little disappointed, but I'm also an embedded software developer by trade, so if I can help I'd like to know how.

akatrevorjay commented 6 years ago

Agreed Emily. A pointer as to what is missing would be more than enough.

Now it's been well over a year since then, so things may have improved by now, but the last time I tried the dev environment it wasn't in a usable share for the blue..

@cslashm hi since this and #23 were both closed, does this mean it's available on the blue?
