How to reproduce.

Try loading ledger app.

Let the thing try syncing until it disconnect and timeout. (too slow)

Close the app,

Browser ram keep growing at the rate of 1 gig every 10 min even with the app closed and ledger disconnected.

Go in /extention, turn off Ledger app, and watch your browser freeze for 3 entire minutes while the memory get drained.
